AMOS 50th Anniversary Symposium
11/08/2023
This year, AMOS proudly commemorates two remarkable milestones: 50 years since the inception of the Australian Branch of the Royal Meteorological Society, and 150 years since the establishment of the International Meteorological Organisation (IMO), the esteemed predecessor to the WMO. The significance of these anniversaries cannot be overstated, as they symbolise the invaluable contributions made by our scientists and their colleagues.
In honour of these momentous occasions, AMOS is running a one-day Symposium on Friday 11 August at Melbourne Museum. The Symposium features world renowned Australian scientists who will discuss the historic achievements and future challenges for weather, oceans and climate science in Australia and globally. Note that these events will follow the Bureau of Meteorology R&D workshop which will be held from 7 to 10 August 2023. The Symposium will be preceded by a Grand Winter Dinner on Thursday, 10 August at the RACV Club in Bourke Street, Melbourne. All welcome to celebrate our 50th Anniversary.
