Annual invited lecture by an early to mid-career scientist (no more than 10 years from their highest degree) on any topic of relevance to the AMOS community
Dr Penny Whetton (1958-2019) was one of Australia’s leading climate scientists and a role model for gender diversity. She led the development of several comprehensive national climate change projections that have been used by the private sector, governments and non-government organisations to make decisions in response to climate change. In honour of Penny’s contributions over her long and distinguished career, an early to mid-career researcher is invited to give a lecture at the AMOS Annual Conference.
Nomination process
The program committee for the annual conference invites the Penny Whetton Memorial Lecturer each year.
