Fellow – $180.00
Only AMOS approved Fellows may purchase/renew their membership as Fellows. Available to an existing member who has approved professional qualifications in meteorology, oceanography or related subjects and has made major contributions to the AMOS disciplines over a number of years. The requisite level of qualification shall be determined by Council.
Fellow – Retired – $90
Only AMOS approved Fellows may purchase/renew their membership as Fellows. Available to Fellows who have retired. The status of Fellow is available to an existing member who has approved professional qualifications in meteorology, oceanography or related subjects and has made major contributions to the AMOS disciplines over a number of years. The requisite level of qualification shall be determined by Council. Fellows are appointed following a multi-stage election process involving the AMOS Awards Committee and the existing AMOS Fellows. Professional Member – $180.00
Available to any member who has been employed in meteorology or oceanography or an allied field for at least five years, has tertiary level qualifications in meteorology, oceanography or an allied field (e.g. applied maths/physics) and their primary employment is in meteorology, oceanography or an allied field. AMS and RMS members residing outside of Australia, please see Professional Member AMS Affiliate or Professional Member RMS Affiliate for discount.
Professional Member (Retired) – $90.00
Available to any retired member who has been employed in meteorology or oceanography or an allied field for at least five years, has tertiary level qualifications in meteorology, oceanography or an allied field (e.g. applied maths/physics) and their primary employment is in meteorology, oceanography or an allied field.
Early Career Researcher Membership – $110
Available to those whose primary employment is in meteorology or oceanography or an allied field and is within five years full time equivalent since completion of their tertiary level qualifications
Student Member – Complimentary
Available to existing student members enrolled at least half-time in an accredited educational institution.
Enthusiast Member (non-voting) – $60.00
Available to any individual who is enthusiastic about the science supported by AMOS, whose primary employment is not within the fields of meteorology or oceanography or an allied field or is not closely tied to the science supported by AMOS or who has previously been employed in meteorology or oceanography or an allied field for more than five years and is not considered to be a Retired Professional Member.
Retired Enthusiast Member (non-voting) – $35.00
Available to any Enthusiast Member who has retired from full- time employment and did not previously hold a Professional or Fellow Membership.

Available to any member of the American Meteorological Society and Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society residing outside Australia.

Available to any member of the Royal Meteorological Society and Meteorological Society of New Zealand residing outside Australia.
